Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 enables developers to create, IT professionals to manage, and business users to maintain full-featured Web business applications with a low total cost of ownership and rapid time to value.Microsoft is committed to provide support and enhance current version of Commerce server. Couple of months before they have released commerce server service pack 1, which makes the application/business tools  run on windows Vista, performance and security enhancements. Apart from this, it also fixed several known issues.  Currently they are working to release next service pack in the end of the year 2008. Their main focus is

  4. Windows Live Search Integration

  2. Share data with Search.
  3. Leverage live services.
  4. Increase core ecommerce capabilities as per market expectations.
  5. Shopping cart web parts.
  6. Social networking using SharePoint or live integration.
  7. Integrated site search with content as well as metadata.
  8. Enhancements in marketing and merchandizing.
  9. WYSIWYG content editing with preview.
  10. Content management capabilities.
  11. Leverage office tools to minimize business users learning curve.
